Project Summary:
After Helen Macdonald’s father died suddenly, she was devastated. A lifelong falconer, she decided to train a goshawk, a fierce predator, to cope with her grief. She adopted Mabel and followed T. H. White’s “The Goshawk” as her guide. Projecting herself into the hawk’s wild mind tested the limits of her humanity.
