Project Summary:
The Accompanist is set in New Jersey and follows the lives of two unlikely companions: 70-year-old Sylvia and 8-year-old Emily. After Emily reveals to her school nurse that her dementia-stricken grandfather nearly caused their deaths, a child-welfare agent steps in. This leads to a chaotic removal of Emily from her grandfather’s care, placing her with Sylvia, a new foster parent.
