Eighteen years after the release of “The Devil Wears Prada,” 20th Century Studios has confirmed that a sequel is now in pre-production, with filming scheduled to begin in early 2025. This announcement brings the beloved fashion-centric story back into the spotlight, setting the stage for another stylish cinematic journey.

Production Details With pre-production currently underway, industry insiders have reported that principal photography is planned to commence in New York City in February 2025, with additional locations slated for Paris and London to capture the international essence of the fashion world. David Frankel, who directed the original 2006 film, is returning to helm the sequel, ensuring continuity in style and vision. The script is being crafted by Aline Brosh McKenna, who also penned the screenplay for the first film, bringing her sharp, insider’s perspective on the high-stakes world of publishing and fashion.

The project is still in the development phase, with casting confirmations, crew hires, and production logistics currently being finalized. As of now, the film is set to shoot for approximately three months, wrapping in May 2025, aiming for a potential late 2026 release date, just in time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original.

Key Players and Returning Cast Industry professionals will be excited to know that the original cast members—Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci—are all in talks to return, reprising their iconic roles. Streep’s portrayal of the formidable Miranda Priestly remains one of her most memorable performances, and her return is expected to draw significant interest both within the industry and among audiences worldwide. Blunt and Tucci, who delivered standout supporting roles, are also set to rejoin the ensemble, making this project one of the most anticipated reunions in recent film history.

With the return of Frankel and Brosh McKenna, the creative team aims to maintain the same sharp wit and visual flair that made the original film a hit, while adapting to the evolving landscape of the fashion and media industries.

Filming Locations and Logistics Set primarily in New York, “The Devil Wears Prada 2” will also be filming select sequences in key European cities known for their fashion capitals. The production team is currently scouting locations in Paris, which will serve as a backdrop for some of the film’s pivotal scenes, further expanding on the glamorous setting established in the first installment.

With local casting calls expected soon, there are also ongoing discussions about partnering with established fashion houses for authentic wardrobe pieces, a strategy that worked effectively in the original film to enhance the visual storytelling. Producers are in the process of negotiating contracts with top designers and brands to ensure the film’s fashion credibility remains at the forefront.

Why It Matters “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is not just a sequel—it’s a high-profile project that marks the resurgence of a beloved franchise. For film professionals, it represents opportunities in numerous production areas, from wardrobe and set design to marketing partnerships and location services. The film’s international filming schedule also means that various production teams across the globe will be tapped, making this project a significant industry event.

With an experienced production team and a commitment to maintaining the tone and quality of the original, the sequel is poised to be a major box office draw. It’s a chance for film crews, casting agents, designers, and other professionals to be part of a cultural phenomenon that has already proven its global appeal. Lionsgate has officially announced plans for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, a new film set in the beloved dystopian universe created by Suzanne Collins. The movie is based on Collins’ upcoming novel of the same name and marks the sixth installment in the Hunger Games film franchise. With a wide theatrical release date set for November 20, 2026, the production is gearing up to bring this next chapter of Panem to life.

Francis Lawrence, who directed Catching Fire and both parts of Mockingjay, is in talks to return to the director’s chair for this new installment. Lawrence’s collaboration with Lionsgate has been pivotal in the success of the franchise, which has grossed $3.3 billion at the global box office. The production will be handled by Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson’s Color Force banner, with Michael Arndt expected to return as the screenwriter.

The story of Sunrise on the Reaping is set 24 years before the events of the original Hunger Games trilogy, during the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. This Games is notable for its winner, Haymitch Abernathy, who would later mentor Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. Although there’s no word yet on casting, the return to Panem is expected to draw significant interest from both established and new talent in the industry.

With production oversight from Meredith Wieck and Scott O’Brien at Lionsgate, and with a timeline that includes the start of pre-production work in 2025, this project is sure to attract crew members across various departments eager to contribute to the latest chapter of this blockbuster franchise. Given the scope and scale of previous Hunger Games films, production crews can anticipate a need for extensive set design, elaborate costume work, and significant VFX involvement to bring the world of Panem to life once more.

Lionsgate has been a consistent partner in bringing Suzanne Collins’ vision to the screen, and this latest film will continue that tradition. The franchise’s track record of high-quality production and innovative storytelling has set a high bar, and Sunrise on the Reaping is poised to build on that legacy. As the project moves closer to its production start, opportunities for involvement in this major production are likely to open up, drawing interest from top-tier talent across the film industry.

With The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, the production team at Lionsgate is once again preparing to deliver a cinematic experience that will resonate with audiences around the world, making it a prime opportunity for cast and crew looking to work on a high-profile project.

After nearly three decades, fans of the classic sports comedy Happy Gilmore are in for a treat as a sequel is officially set to enter production in September 2024. The original film, directed by Dennis Dugan and released over 28 years ago, became a beloved hit for its unique blend of humor and sports action. Adam Sandler, who starred as the failed ice hockey player turned golf sensation, Happy Gilmore, will reprise his role, bringing the character back to the big screen.

Production for Happy Gilmore 2 is slated to start on September 5th, 2024, with filming expected to wrap up by November 18th, 2024. Unlike the first film, which was shot in Vancouver, Canada, the sequel will be filmed in New Jersey, USA, marking a significant change in location for the franchise.

Kyle Newacheck, a Netflix alum known for his work on Murder Mystery—which also starred Sandler and broke viewership records—has been confirmed as the director for the sequel. Newacheck’s experience with both comedy and Sandler makes him a fitting choice to helm this long-awaited project. His work on FX’s What We Do In The Shadows further highlights his ability to blend humor with unique storytelling.

Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihy, the duo behind the original script, are returning to pen the screenplay for Happy Gilmore 2. Herlihy has a long history of successful collaborations with Sandler, having worked together on over twenty projects. Their reunion for this sequel promises to deliver the same comedic energy that made the first film a hit.

As of now, Adam Sandler is the only confirmed cast member, with no official word on whether Christopher McDonald will return as the iconic antagonist Shooter McGavin, or if Julie Bowen will reprise her role as Virginia Venit. However, fans are hopeful that more of the original cast will return to bring continuity and nostalgia to the new film.

Happy Gilmore 2 is currently in pre-production at Netflix, where anticipation is building for what could be one of the streaming platform’s most highly anticipated releases. The return of Happy Gilmore is sure to bring back fond memories for longtime fans and introduce the character to a new generation of viewers. With a strong creative team and the beloved original star back on board, the sequel is shaping up to be a major event in the world of comedy film production.

Production on the third season of HBO’s “House of the Dragon” is set to begin later this year, and the team behind the series is gearing up for what promises to be another ambitious chapter in the Targaryen saga. Showrunner Ryan Condal recently shared details about the direction of the series, confirming that it will likely run for four seasons, with the third season consisting of eight episodes.

The decision to extend the series to four seasons is a strategic move to ensure that key events, like the highly anticipated Gullet battle from George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” are given the time and resources they deserve. Condal emphasized that balancing storytelling with production constraints has been a significant challenge. The goal is to deliver these major scenes at a level that meets fan expectations while maintaining the quality of the show’s production design, costumes, visual effects, and more.

Most of the main cast is expected to return for Season 3, including Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower. Production teams can also expect the introduction of new characters, such as Daeron Targaryen, which will bring fresh elements to the series. The third season will continue to build on the complex character dynamics and intense storytelling that have been central to the show’s success.

For those involved in production, Season 3 will present both familiar and new challenges. The series is known for its high production values, from elaborate set designs to intricate costumes and cutting-edge visual effects. The return of key locations and the introduction of new ones will require careful planning and coordination across all departments. Additionally, the larger scale of upcoming battles and action sequences will demand extensive pre-production work to ensure that everything from stunts to VFX integration is seamless.

As “House of the Dragon” moves forward, the production crew will play a crucial role in bringing this epic story to life. With the series aiming to deliver some of its biggest moments yet, the work done behind the scenes will be more important than ever in meeting the high expectations of both fans and the show’s creators. Season 3 is shaping up to be a pivotal chapter in the series, and the efforts of the production team will be key to its success.

The much-loved spy spoof franchise “Johnny English” is set to return to the big screen, with production on the fourth film reportedly beginning this summer. Six years after the release of “Johnny English Strikes Again,” Rowan Atkinson is slated to reprise his role as the bumbling yet endearing secret agent.

The new installment, which will see filming take place in Malta and the UK starting in June, continues the successful collaboration between Universal Pictures and its subsidiary Working Title Films. While the plot details are still under wraps, fans can expect the same blend of comedy and action that has made the franchise a global hit.

The “Johnny English” series first launched in 2003, with Atkinson starring alongside Ben Miller, Natalie Imbruglia, and John Malkovich. The film’s success led to two sequels: “Johnny English Reborn” in 2011, featuring a new cast including Gillian Anderson, Dominic West, Rosamund Pike, and Daniel Kaluuya, and “Johnny English Strikes Again” in 2018.

Atkinson had previously hinted that a fourth film might not happen, telling fans during a Reddit Ask Me Anything session, “I doubt it but thank you very much for implying you’d like to see another one. But at the same time… never say never.” Fortunately for fans, the beloved character of Johnny English will indeed make a return.

The news of the upcoming production comes after renewed interest in Atkinson’s work, particularly following Sir Tony Robinson’s reprise of his role as Baldrick from the “Blackadder” series for a Comic Relief sketch last year. This rekindled hope among fans for a possible return of the “Blackadder” series as well.

As “Johnny English 4” gears up for production, excitement builds around what new comedic adventures await the world’s most unlikely secret agent. With Atkinson back in the lead role, audiences can look forward to another round of laughs and misadventures when the film eventually hits theaters.
