Jensen began his professional career in investment banking at such firms as Drexel Burnham & Kayne Anderson. After several years, he walked away and entered the entertainment business. Several years of training at high profile entertainment/corporate public relations firms, Jensen felt prepared to start his own PR firm. In the time he was on his own, he caught the eye of Baker/Winokur/Ryder (BWR), who hired him to head their NY office. Having braved New York long enough, Jensen relocated to the LA office of BWR, working within the talent and corporate divisions for many years.
In 1997 Jensen decided to expand his breadth of the entertainment industry, left BWR and public relations altogether, and join forced forces with a talent management firm. Jensen soon realized he’s best suited as an independent and formed The Independent Group. During the 15 years at Independent, Jensen and staff managed 100’s of actors & packaged 100’s of unscripted series’.. Relationships with Lions Gate TV, Mark Burnett, Bunim Murray, RDF, Kinetic, ZOO, Endemol, BermanBraun, Electus, Reveille/Shine and others originated and flourished. During that time, and alongside client Melissa Rivers, Jensen produced many of the Live Red Carpet & Fashion Wrap programs, as well as other long & short programming at TV Guide Channel (in addition to orchestrating the initial move from E! to TV Guide). While still under the Independent banner, packages were developed and/or sold to Spike, Discovery & Fit, Style, SPIKE, BET, A/E, Lifetime, USA, NBCU and History Channel to name a few.
In 2011, after 15 years in his own, Jensen joined Vincent Cirrincione Associates as an independent contractor to assist in talent management and television packaging. There he sits, happily managing his handful of actors while still seeking that unique show idea to package and market, completely impassioned and full of spirit.
